My experience using ChatGPT

Hello everyone! Today, I will be writing about my experience using ChatGPT, an AI based language model. ChatGPT is a very cool website and it can do a number of impressive things, such as answer questions in a more specific way, summarize long articles, or even do your homework for you! To test how well it really works, I imputed the promt, “Please summarize the book series Heores of Olympus,” as this is my favorite book series. The answer ChatGPT gave me was the following:

“The Heroes of Olympus is a young adult fantasy series by Rick Riordan that follows the adventures of seven demigods from both Greek and Roman mythology as they team up to save the world from the awakening of Gaea, the earth goddess.

The series begins with “The Lost Hero,” where three new demigods, Jason, Piper, and Leo, discover that they are part of a prophecy that involves saving the world from destruction. They are led by a satyr named Coach Hedge and eventually meet up with three other demigods from the Percy Jackson series: Annabeth, Percy, and Frank. Together, they go on a quest to stop Gaea from rising.

In the second book, “The Son of Neptune,” Percy Jackson wakes up with no memory of his past life and finds himself in the Roman Camp Jupiter. He joins forces with Frank and Hazel to stop the giant Alcyoneus from awakening Gaea.

In “The Mark of Athena,” the seven demigods reunite and continue their quest, but tensions rise between the Greek and Roman demigods. They search for the titular mark, which is a clue to stopping Gaea.

In “The House of Hades,” the demigods must journey into the underworld to close the Doors of Death and prevent monsters from returning to the world of the living.

Finally, in “The Blood of Olympus,” the seven demigods must face Gaea and her army of giants in the final battle to save the world. They also face personal challenges and learn to work together as a team.

Overall, the Heroes of Olympus series is a thrilling adventure that combines action, mythology, and humor to create a memorable and exciting story.”

This was a quite a good description. Though some points were slightly inacurate, I’d still rank this as a fullfilling discription as it captures the plot of each book, and makes you want to read it. In my opinion, at least. I would still recommend this series to someone using the description ChatGPT provided.

So this brings us to the big question, How can ChatGPT help students with their work, and should it replace human creativity?

First of all, ChatGPT provides can answer questions or prompts much more accurately than other search engines, such as google. You can also change the response more to your liking, for example, you could type “explain so-and-so for a five year old,” (if you’re not so smart, kidding,) It can personalize it’s answer so you develop a better understanding of the subject.

Secondly, ChatGPT can enhance our thinking or lead our minds to better ideas. It allows us to see through a different, (slightly opinionated,) perspective.

Therefore, ChatGPT can be a usefull tool for knowledge seeking students, curios children, or even just people who are bored and need someone to talk to. In my opinion though, ChatGPT sholdn’t replace human creativity. While it is usefull, AI can’t replace that creativity and original perspectives humans have. So in the end, ChatGPT can help enhance your thinking, not replicate it.
